Bonny Campbell Prevatte

DURHAM Mrs. Bonny Campbell Prevatte, 96, of Durham, died on Wednesday, October 2, 2013. She lived in Pembroke before moving to Durham to live with her daughter, Sally.

Bonny was born in Robeson County to the late Frank Leslie Campbell and Nancy Emily Jones Campbell. She was a faithful church member of Lowes Grove Baptist Church and the Ruth Bible Class. She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Post 416. She was preceded in death by her husband, Delmus Prevatte, son-in-law, Jim Jones, one brother and three sisters.

She is survived by her daughters, Sally Jones-Davis and husband, Bob of Durham; Bonny Shepard and husband, Bob of Chattanooga, Tenn.; sister, Margaret Ivey of Maxton; five grandchildren, Mike Jones (Laurie), Debby Adcock (David), Kendra Shepard, Keely Gilliland (Michael), Brandon Shepard (Alyssa) and two great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday at 3 p.m. at Lowes Grove Baptist Church, officiated by Rev. Forest Gale. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 2 to 3 p.m. in the church sanctuary. Burial will be in the Lowes Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Frank Oakley, Steve Strickland, Jim Eakers, Marshall Shipp, Bill May and Jack Swanson.
