Carolyn Marie Smith

HENDERSON – Carolyn Marie Williford Smith, 68, of 195 Manor Lane, died Thursday, June 17, 2010, at her home. Mrs. Smith was born in Durham to the late Christine Anne Williford Strickland and Hervie Lee Williford. She was a loving wife, caring mother, and will be missed dearly. Surviving are five sons, Allen Neely, Robert Smith and wife, Michelle, Richard Smith, Rodney Smith and wife, Angela, and John Smith and wife, Emmy, all of Durham; three daughters, Theresa Smith, Sharyn Smith Richmond and husband, Rashod, and Rhonda Smith, all of Durham; a brother, Ronald Williford and wife, Angela, of Creedmoor; three sisters, Deborah Young and husband, Landis, Audrey Proctor, and Kathy Clay and husband, Barry, all of Durham; 23 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her husband, John Ormond Smith; a son, Ray Nealy; two brothers, Hervie Williford and James Williford; and a sister, Barbara Williams. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Hudson Funeral Chapel in Durham, officiated by Rev. Floyd Jackson. There will be no visitation.
