Cathryne Chappell Weaver

DURHAM Mrs. Cathryne Chappell Weaver, 96, of Durham, died on Thursday, October 19, 2017, peacefully in her home.Mrs. Weaver retired from the B. C. Remedy Company. She is a member of the Harvest Glen Baptist Church, formerly the Fieldcrest Baptist Church where she was a charter member, Sunday School teacher, choir member and treasurer. Cathryne was blessed with a gift of hospitality. She loved hosting friends and family and was known as a wonderful southern cook. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leon Weaver and sisters, Nannie Walker, Lorena Keith and Iris Westmoreland.She is survived by her son, Leon Winston “Lenny” Weaver and wife, Jr. of Rougemont; two grandchildren, Mitzi Weaver Nugent (Doug) of Houston, TX., Staci Weaver Good (Kevin) of Edmond, OK.; two great-grandchildren, Chloe Leanne Nugent and Clayton Weaver Nugent.Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 23, 2017 at 11 a.m. at Hudson Funeral Chapel. Rev. Richard Hedges and Chaplain Donnie Addison will officiate. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Ken Weaver, Clark Weaver, Larry Weaver, Charles Flamion, Matthew Layton, Ryan Weaver and Eugene Weaver.The family will receive friends on Sunday, October 22, 2017 from 2 to 4 p.m. at Hudson Funeral Home.
