MORRISDURHAM Mr. Claiborne Eugene Morris, 81, of 2600 Barwick Drive, died on Sunday, May 29, 2011.Mr. Morris was a native and lifelong resident of Durham, the son of the late Carl Newton Morris and Mary Elizabeth Pope Morris. He retired after 35 years from Liggett and Myers Tobacco Company as a cut stem processing Supervisor. Mr. Morris was a member of Faith Baptist Church. He was a member of the Redwood Ruritan Club and had served as Treasurer. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Margaret Aldridge, Elizabeth Morris and Eleanor Weisner; brothers, Carl Morris Jr., James Morris, Julian Morris and Charles Morris.He is survived by his wife, Mary Clayton Morris; one son, Carl E. Morris and wife, Teresa; one daughter, Marcia M. Williams and husband, Dennis; grandchildren, Doug Walters and wife, Erica, Reca Morris, Mark Morris, Caleb Morris, Julie Williams Lacy, Steven Williams and wife, Natasha, Dawn Blake and husband, Tim and Amy Roghelia and husband, Chris; great-grandchildren, Tori Williams, Cari Mincey, Hannah Williams, Rhiannon Oswald, Matthew Mincey, Dylan Williams, Claiborne Williams, Mikayla Williams, Keith Blake, Jade Williams, John Mincey, Joe Williams, Kaylee Blake, Jesse Walters, Carly Lacy, Luke Mincey and many other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Faith Baptist Church, officiated by Rev. Roger Wall. Burial will be in Oak Grove Memorial Gardens. Active pallbearers will be Doug Walters, Steven Williams, Mark Morris, Caleb Morris, Matthew Mincey, Dylan Williams, Claiborne Williams, Keith Blake, John Mincey, Joe Williams and Jesse Walters.The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Hudson Funeral Home and other times at the home, 2600 Barwick Drive.
