Clarence Gaston Herndon

DURHAM- Mr. Clarence Gaston Herndon, 79, of Durham died on Saturday, November 2, 2013. He was the son of the late Hoyt Clarence Herndon and Anna Maynard Herndon. He was a truck driver for about 50 years, retired from his own trucking business, went to work for West Brothers Transfer and Storage for 15 years. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. Mr. Herndon was an avid fisherman. He was preceded in death by his brother Levy Herndon.

He is survived by his loving wife of fifty nine years, Christine Herndon, one son, Larry Herndon and wife Emily of Durham; one sister, Lessie Tillman of Cary; two grandchildren, Casey Herndon and Chase Herndon.

Memorial service will be held on Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. at Calvary Baptist Church. Rev. Jody Griffin will officiate.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. one hour prior to the service at Calvary Baptist Church and other times at the home 18 Elaine Circle.
