Dolly Margaret Appel, 77, of 3902 Angier Ave., went to be with her Lord and Savior Friday, October 8, 2010, at Hock Family Pavilion.Mrs. Appel was born in Durham to the late Leonard David and Nellie Mae Fowler Watts. Before retiring, she was employed with Blue Cross Blue Shield. Mrs. Appel was a member of Angier Avenue Baptist Church and the Ruth Bible Class. Surviving are four sons, David Appel and wife, Julia, of Wake Forest, Steve Appel and wife, Wendy, of Townsville, Mike Appel and wife, Wanda, of Durham and Gary Appel of Durham; a daughter, Debbie Parrish and husband, Clarence, of Durham; a sister, Mary Jean Hogan of Durham; 10 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.Mrs. Appel was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin J. Appel. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Angier Avenue Baptist Church. Burial will be in Oak Grove Memorial Gardens. The family will receive visitors from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Hudson Funeral Home and at other times at the home of Mike Appel, 4110 Suitt Road.
