Donald Ward Cooke

BUTNER- Mr. Donald Ward Cooke, 69, passed away on Tuesday, December 1, 2020.

Mr. Cooke was born on January 22, 1951 to Clinton Cooke and Ernestine Cooke Tew in Durham, NC. He was a resident of Murdoch Developmental Center. He was an energetic person and loved music. He loved to go on van rides for off campus activities. He will be lovingly remembered by his family and friends.

Mr. Cooke was preceded in death by his father, Clinton Carver Cooke; and sister, Janice Carmack.

Mr. Cooke is survived by his mother, Ernestine Ward Tew of Smithfield, VA; niece, Heather Snipes of Smithfield, VA; nephew, Jason Cawley of Seattle, WA; 4 great-nephews, and a great-niece.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 9, 2020 at Maplewood Cemetery. Officiating will be Chaplain Brandon Rhodes.
