Doris Cates Carden

DURHAM Mrs. Doris Cates Carden, 81, of Durham, died on Saturday, March 30, 2013.Mrs. Carden was a native and lifelong resident of Durham, the daughter of the late Jesse Cates and Mamie Watson Cates. She was a homemaker and loved gardening and flowers. She was a member of Cheek Heights Baptist Church.She is survived by her husband, Arlis Walter Carden; daughter, Judy Raynor; and special friends, Patsy Parrish, Hilda Stegall, Van Cote, Betty Ringwood and Mr. and Mrs. John Shertzer and family.Graveside services will be held on Tuesday at 3p.m. at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens. Rev. Steve Williams will officiate. There is no visitation planned.
