Dorothy Smith Cox

DURHAM-Mrs. Dorothy Smith Cox, 84, of Durham died on Friday, July 11, 2014. She was the daughter of the late Oliver Leon Smith and Myrtle Wilkes Smith. Mrs. Cox loved to read. She was preceded in death by her husband Willie Cox, grandson, Dwayne Cross and four brothers.

She is survived by her daughter Dorinda Cross and husband Wayne of New Hill, NC; one granddaughter, Andrea Cross Batten, eight great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Graveside services will be held on Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. at Brier Creek Memorial Gardens. Rev. Aubrey Cochran, Jr. will officiate. Active pallbearers will be Dwayne Seal, Dilan Batten, Steven Horton, Justin Ellis, Donald Batten and Kirkland Dula.
