Ernest Clifton Batchelor Sr.

Mr. Ernest Clifton Batchelor, Sr. 93, of Durham passed away July 10, 2022, at his home surrounded by his loving family.

Mr. Batchelor was born September 7, 1928, in Rocky Mount, N.C. to the late Ernest Clifton Batchelor and Hazel Joyner Batchelor.

Mr. Batchelor was employed as a Machinist for many years at Honeywell (formerly Wright’s Machinery). He was very involved at his church, Calvary Baptist, serving as a Deacon and other positions over the years. He was a handyman, always working on, and repairing things.

Mr. Batchelor is survived by his wife of over 69 years, Annie Brown Batchelor; son, Ernest Clifton Batchelor, Jr.; daughter, Lisa Eddins (Henry); grandchildren, Holly Akin (Matthew), Christine Stallings (Walter), William Eddins (Jennifer Ward); great grandchildren, Hayden Akin, Annie Akin, Noah Stallings and Kenna Stallings.

A graveside service will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, July 14, 2022 at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens. Officiating will be Dr. Aubrey Jones.
