Essie Wilson Pendergraft

Essie Wilson Pendergraft, 94, died Thursday at her home. She was a self employed practical nurse. A native of Person County, she was a lifelong resident of Durham. Ms. Pendergraft was of the Christian faith. A funeral service will be held 2 pm Monday, March 29, 2010 at Hudson Funeral Home. Burial will be at Maplewood Cemetery. Surviving are her sons, Norman Pendergraft and Ronald Pendergraft, Sr. and wife Barbara; daughter, Betty J. King; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Harvey Pendergraft and her sister Bessie Riley. The family will receive friends at Hudson Funeral Home from 7 to 9 pm on Sunday and other times at the home of Betty King.
