Evelyn Ann Boese Ewert

Now in the presence of the Lord, Evelyn went to be with Him on Thursday, March 6, 2014.  Evelyn was born on August 3, 1931 in Avon, South Dakota to the late Peter and Anna (Schultz) Boese. Evelyn was predeceased by 5 siblings: Ralph Boese, Milton Boese, Don Boese, Ardis Woolf, and Phyllis Bultman.

Evelyn married Reuben Ewert on March 19, 1955. Together they served as youth sponsors at Calvary Baptist Church, Midland, Michigan for 19 years.  Their ministry influenced the lives of hundreds of teens.  For most of the last 30 years, they served in evangelism traveling the states and many countries in Europe. Evelyn enjoyed sewing, gardening, and crocheting.

Evelyn is survived by her husband, Reuben Ewert of Durham,  NC; four daughters – Trina Thiry (Andy) of Inman, SC; Charlene Ewert of Pensacola, Florida; Renae Finley (Rick) of Timberlake, NC; Tonia Ebert (Aaron) of Pensacola, Florida; 11 grandchildren;  Nathan Thiry (Julie), Jeremy Thiry (Heidi), Mark Thiry, Matthew Thiry (Sarah), Jessica Weitz (Tyler), Joshua Finley (Aimee), Karissa Ray (Caleb), Kaleb Finley, Jacob Finley, Tyler Ebert and Kari Ebert. 7 great-grandchildren; Elijah Thiry, Levi Thiry, Eliana Thiry, Lucas Thiry, Jacob Thiry, Addie Thiry,  and Melanie Thiry, two sisters, Huldah Gerard of Knoxville, TN; and Norma Warner of Grand Rapids, MI. 

Funeral services will be held on Monday at 2:00 p.m. at Fellowship Baptist Church. Dr. Rick Finley will officiate. Burial will be in Oak Grove Memorial Gardens. Active pallbearers will be Jeremy Thiry, Mark Thiry, Matthew Thiry, Joshua Finley, Jacob Finley, Tyler Ebert, Andy Thiry and Aaron Ebert. Honorary pallbearers will be Tyler Weitz and Bob Koster.
