Faye Doss Currie

DURHAM Mrs. Faye Doss Currie, 72, beloved mother and grandmother, departed this life on Monday, April 01, 2013, into the presence of her loving heavenly Father.Mrs. Currie was born in Pittsylvania, Virginia to the late James Lewis Brown and Nora Belle Reynolds Brown. She retired after 27 years from the Durham Public Schools as a Cafeteria Manager. She was a member of Gorman Baptist Church and the Summerlin Sunday School Class. She was preceded in death by her brother, James A. Brown.She is survived by her sons, William Doss of Hillsborough and David Doss (Lee) of Mebane; three daughters, Rita Schmidt and Sandra Shambley (Mike) both of Durham, Theresa Doss Balmer of Newton Grove; step-daughter, Kim Black (Terry) of Wake Forest; sister, Sonja Wilson (Ron) of Prescott Valley, Az.; twelve grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and a former sister-in-law and great friend, Sandra Brown.Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Gorman Baptist Church. Dr. C. J. Bordeaux will officiate. Interment will be in Oak Grove Memorial Gardens.The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Hudson Funeral Home and other times at the home.
