Fisher, Jr. L. R. Buck

FISHERDURHAM Mr. L. R. “Buck” Fisher, Jr., 84, of 613 Starmont Drive, died on Monday, September 4, 2010.Mr. Fisher was a native of Durham, the son of the late L. R. Fisher, Sr. and Larah Elizabeth Odum. He served in the U. S. Navy during World II. After retiring from Liggett & Myers Tobacco Company he moved to Harkers Island where he loved to fish. He was a member of Guess Road Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Janet C. Fisher.He is survived by his son, Randy Fisher and wife, Betty of Hillsborough; daughter, Sandy Gentry and husband, Al of Durham; one brother, Ross Fisher and one sister, Ruth Riggs both of Durham and five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 11 a.m. at Hudson Funeral Chapel, officiated by Rev. Dan Tilley. Burial will be in Oak Grove Memorial Gardens. Active pallbearers will be Paul Sorrell, Joe Hux, Wendy Chase, Caro Earp, Keith Green and Brandon Fisher.The family will receive friends on Thursday from 10 to 11 a.m. at Hudson Funeral Home and other times at the home, 613 Starmont Drive.
