DURHAM- Mrs. Gloria Jean Crain, 81, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, January 17, 2019.

Mrs. Crain was born November 23, 1937 to Aaron and Thelma Wall in Johnston County, NC. She was a faithful member of Cornerstone Community Church for over 50 years and was a Sunday School teacher there for over 30 years. Gloria spread the gospel everywhere she went. She truly loved people unconditionally and lived for her family and most of all for Jesus Christ. Gloria was always known for visiting family, friends, or even strangers, whether at nursing homes, church, prison, or wherever she was. She truly touched many lives in her glorious 81 years. Gloria will be remembered by her uncompromised faith and as someone who lived to serve Jesus, mind, body, soul and spirit. Her life was a pure and bright reflection of the love of God.

Mrs. Crain is preceded in death by her parents Aaron and Thelma Wall; husband, Clyde Crain; son, Scott Crain; six siblings and her grandson Stevie Crain, Jr.; twin granddaughters, Erica and Brenda Crain.

Mrs. Crain is survived by her children, Steve Crain, Elizabeth Crain, Tim Crain (Dana), Tony Crain (Dawn), Kimberly Knight (Dan); sister, Forrestine Aldridge; grandchildren, Abbie Crain, T.J. Jones, Jamie Schunke (Dallas), Jessica Crain, Joshua Crain, Jeffery Crain, Cindy Champion, Mindy Clayton, Cory Crain (Abbi), Troy Crain, Carolyn Springle, Avery Sweeney, Michelle Sweeney, Kailey Crain, Jeffry Roberson, Joanna Martin, Richard Kelly, Jeremy Kelly, Nicholas Harris, Allie Harris, Gabe Harris, and Tiffany Knight;, numerous great grandchildren and many other loving family members and friends, and her sweet cat, Tom.

A visitation will be held Saturday, January 19, 2019 at Hudson Funeral Home from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Funeral service will be held on Sunday, January 20, 2019, at Hudson Funeral Home Chapel at 2:30 p.m. Pallbearers will be Richard Kelly, Jeremy Kelly, Jeffery Crain, Cory Crain, Josh Crain, Troy Crain, Levi Melton, and Timothy McNeely. Burial to follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park.
