Haywood Moore Stephenson

WAKE FOREST – Haywood Moore Stephenson, 84, of Wake Forest died Friday, July 16, 2010. Mr. Stephenson was born in Durham to the late Walter H. and Iola Belle Maynard Stephenson. Before retiring, he was employed with Westinghouse for 33 years. Mr. Stephenson was a member of Olive Branch Baptist Church, where he served as a Deacon. He was a dedicated husband, father and family man. Mr. Stephenson was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Patterson Stephenson.Surviving are two sons, Haywood M. Stephenson Jr. of Durham and Mark A. Stephenson and wife, Mindy, of Houston, TX; two daughters, Fran S. Benson and Wanda S. Hayes, both of Wake Forest; grandchildren, Audra McRae and husband, Sean, of Apex, Gwendolyn Nelson of Raleigh, Sarah Stephenson and Camille Stephenson, both of Houston; and a great-grandson, Tyler McRae of Apex. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Monday at Woodlawn Memorial Park Mausoleum in Durham, officiated by Rev. Ken Forehand. The family will receive visitors from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Hudson Funeral Home in Durham and at other times at 2909 Steeple Run Drive in Wake Forest.
