WOODDURHAM Mr. James Everett Wood, 84, a resident of Treyburn and formerly of the Bethesda Community, died on Monday, May 23, 2011.Mr. Wood was a native and lifelong resident of Durham, the son of the late James Clemmons Wood and Mary Daniel Wood. In his early years he worked for Butrey’s Holloway Street Supermarket. He retired from Central Carolina Farmers which is now Southern States. He was a member of the First Christian Church and the Masonic Lodge 352. He was preceded in death by his wife, Gwendolyn Page Wood, three brothers, Charles K. Wood, George R. Wood, Warren C. Wood and a sister, Fannie Wood Almeleh.He is survived by his very special niece, Wendy Wood of Creedmoor; son, James Robert Wood and wife, Janice of Dothan, Ala.; three grandchildren, Jami Twisdale and husband, Jay of Raleigh, James W. Wood and wife, Tiffany of Monroe, NY and Rick Cordle and wife, Rhonda of Dothan, Ala.; five great-grandchildren, Wyatt and Ava Twisdale, Elaina Wood, Richard and Hunter Cordle and several nieces and nephews. Graveside service will be held on Thursday at 11 a.m. at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens, officiated by Rev. Ernest Ferrell. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Hudson Funeral Home. Flowers are acceptable.
