Lisa, Craig and family I am so sorry that Jay's time came to soon to go to heaven. There are so many fond memories of him and of your family that I have been reflecting on. He was one of the first people that I met when we moved to North Side and it was instant love. Always had a smile on his face and would have one on yours in just a minute after starting to talk to him. Lisa, he loved you so much from a young age and still does. Craig, you were his pride and joy and he will be watching you from heaven and still be so proud of the man you are and all of the wonderful things you have and will do. He loved his family and friends. Rest in Peace until we meet again...much love, Frankie and family

Lisa and Craig - how does anyone say goodbye to a hero? In my opinion that is what Jay was on that fatal day of the explosion. He was there doing his job but also putting himself in the line of fire, knowing what a risk he was taking. He, like all the firefighters and others who came to assess that cut gas line are heroes because they all know the risk they are taking. Jay is a hero because he took the risk and in doing so, he gave his life. I know this doesn’t ease your loss and take away your heartache, but to a person like me, it elevates him to a level so far above others. I am so honored to know he lived in my community, was married to a part of my family and was father to one of my cousins. He was and is a hero and never forget this! My heart is sad for all of you and my prayers go out to your family as you begin to adjust to your new normal. God bless each of you and may his hand of healing give you peace.
