Joann Scott Peele

DURHAM – Joann Scott Peele passed away on July 29^th, 2021 at her home.

Mrs. Peele was born December 25, 1935 to the late Joseph Garland Scott and Mabel Holder Scott of Durham, NC.

Mrs. Peele dearly loved her family. She was a charter member of Calvary Baptist Church in Durham and was very involved in the G. U. M. Drop Ministry at Calvary Baptist Church. Joann was a member of the Triangle Civitan Club and enjoyed volunteering at several organizations including the Ronald McDonald House and several Hospice organizations. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, Alyssa and Alex, as well as traveling with them.

Mrs. Peele is survived by her husband, Ronald Peele; sons, Greg Sherron of Raleigh, Robert Sherron and wife Joan of Greenville, NC; daughter, Joanna Ferrell; grandchildren, Alex Ferrell and Alyssa Ferrell; Step-son Scott Peele and wife Tina and step-granddaughter Megan Peele.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, July 31^st at Calvary Baptist Church with a visitation from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the church.

Interment will be at Raleigh Memorial Park. Officiating will be Reverend Gary Brummitt and Reverend Jody Griffin.

Pallbearers will be Alex Ferrell, Bobby Hall, Larry Johnson, Al Crabtree, Larry Oakley, and Tommy Dempsey.
