Linda Ruth Norman

October 10, 1943 — June 8, 2019

Linda was born in Sharron Acres the daughter of Herman and Hazel Council of Durham. She was educated in Durham having attended Lakewood Elementary, Carr Junior High and graduated from Durham High School.
She lived in Durham all her life and ran her own business Linda’s Day Care for 25 years.
Linda is survived by her spouse and partner Chuck Harris; her daughters Renee Ferguson (Tim), Christina Harris (Jeremy), and Priscilla Cash (Dylan); and a son Jason Harris (Ashley); grandchildren Marie Cook (Lance), Ricky Woodall, Layla Harris, Logan Cash Stafford, and 4 great-grandchildren. Linda is also survived by her brother Paul Council (Linda), brother in law Ed Meador, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her first husband Carl Norman a son Ricky Norman her sister Arthelia Meador and brother Victor Council.
Her wishes were for folks to consider donations to the following organizations: St. Judes Hospital for Children, The Carter Center, and The Ronald McDonald House.
The family would like to thank the following care providers who helped care for her during her illness:
Dr. Neal Ready, Jennifer Tenhover NP, and the Duke Home Care and Hospice Teams.
Linda will be remembered in a Memorial Service to celebrate her life at Hudson Funeral Home Chapel at 12:00 noon with visitation to begin at 11:00 before the service. Officiating will be Reverend Gail Smith.
