Lloyd Lemuel Young

DURHAM-Lloyd Lemuel Young, 87, of Durham died on Monday, March 10, 2014. He was a native and lifelong resident of Durham, the son of the late Lernie L. Young and Elsie Mae Watkins Young. He served in the U.S. Navy during the WWII and Korean War. He attended Sherron Acres First Freewill Baptist. He was a charter member of Durham Power Squadrons, Coast Guard Auxiliary- Life Member, American Legion Post 7. He loved boating and fishing. He was preceded in death by his sister Dorothy Fitch.

He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Gladys Stallings Young, one brother, Robert L. Young and wife Deborah of Durham; one sister Martina Y. Morgan of Hillsborough; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 2:00 p.m. at Hudson Funeral Chapel. Rev. Hugh O’Shields will officiate. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be Robert Dunn, Rob Young, David Stallings and Gordon Stallings.
