HOPKINSDURHAM Mrs. Lois Buchanan Hopkins, 88, of Durham, died on Wednesday, May 4, 2011.Mrs. Hopkins was a native and lifelong resident of Durham, the daughter of the late John H and Missouri Johnson Buchanan. She was employed with Durham Hosiery Mill until they closed and went on to retire from White Star Laundry. She was a member of Faith Harvest Church in Wake Forest. She was preceded in death by her two husbands, Grady William Lloyd, Sr. and Melvin Jones Rigsbee; son, Grady W. Lloyd, Jr. and grandson, Grady W. Lloyd III. She is survived by two sons, Billy Wayne Lloyd and wife, Peggy of Durham and Robert Young Rigsbee and wife, Dorothy of Durham; one daughter, Pamela Jean Mangum and husband, Larry of Durham; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 3 p.m. at Hudson Funeral Chapel, officiated by Rev. Brad Wiggs. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be Bo Rigsbee, Jason Mangum, Billy Lloyd, Jr., Chris Lloyd, Todd Carroll and Victor Snipes.The family will receive friends on Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Hudson Funeral Home and other times at the home of her daughter, 414 Glaive Drive. Flowers are acceptable. The family wishes to thank four special caregivers; Janie Reaves, Jean Pridgen Frankie Burgess and Jeanette Walker.
