Lois Weathers Ferrell

DURHAM- Mrs. Lois Weathers Ferrell, 98, passed away Wednesday, September 23, 2020 at Brian Center Southpoint.

Mrs. Ferrell was born August 28, 1922 to the late Louis and Lula Weathers in Harnett Co., NC. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church for 72 years and taught Sunday School Class for over 50 years. Mrs. Ferrell enjoyed cooking. She will be remembered as a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great grandmother.

Mrs. Ferrell is preceded in death by her husband, Clevin “Felix” Ferrell; brother, Willard Weathers; sisters, Bessie Lee Rollins, Vada Johnson, Mary Gladys Weathers, Pauline W. Council and Hazel W. Woodall.

Mrs. Ferrell is survived by her sons. Larry W. Ferrell (Brenda) of West End, Kenneth F. Ferrell (Claudia) of Wake Forest, Stephen N. Ferrell (Barbara) of Goldsboro; grandchildren, Keith Ferrell (Ti-An), Todd Ferrell (Pam), Kevin Ferrell (Jennifer), Stephanie Thompson (Wayne), 9 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Al Crabtree, Tommy Dempsey, Donnie McFall, Danny McGee, Larry Oakley and Mike White.

A funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, September 25, 2020 at Hudson Funeral Home Chapel. A visitation will be held an hour prior from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. at Hudson Funeral Home. Officiating will be Rev. David Duncan. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park.

Flowers are acceptable or memorial contributions can be directed to Calvary Baptist Church, 1204 Lynn Road, Durham, NC 27703.

Hudson Funeral Home will be observing social distancing for visitation as well as the funeral service, and asks everyone in attendance to wear a mask when entering the building and at graveside.
