Louis Exam Lee

DURHAM Mr. Louis Exam Lee, 89, formerly of 1929 Faucette Ave., died on Wednesday, January 23, 2013.Mr. Lee was born in Knightdale to the late Jim and Lillie Rhodes Lee. He retired after 38 years with Epes Transport. He attended the Salvation Army Church for many years before becoming a member of Mt. Bethel United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Rosa Carter Lee; one son, Scott Lee; son-in-law, Ronnie Benfield; brothers, Paul Lee, Willard Lee, Haywood Lee and three sisters, Bessie Horton, Lila Hicks and Kiva Horton.He is survived by sons, Danny Lee and Jimmie Lee both of Durham; daughters, Nancy Parrish (David) of St. Augustine, Fla., Cindy Needham (Len) of Bahama, Debbie Pilkerton (Joe) of Stem, NC, Susan Pangle (Dallas) of Glen Burnie, Md., Connie Lee of Durham and Linda Benfield of Cedar Grove; one sister, Norma Denning of Clayton; 17 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. on Saturday at Hudson Funeral Home, followed by a funeral service at 2 p.m. in the chapel. Rev. Paul Menard and Pastor Grace Hackney will officiate. Interment will be in Woodlawn Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be Shane Barbour, Shawn Murphy, Brandon Lee, Cody Lee, Blake Parrish and Dallas Pangle.The family will also receive friends at the home of Len and Cindy Needham, 5800 Brickhouse Road in Bahama.
