Eleanor Louise Ferguson

DURHAM Mrs. Eleanor Louise Ferguson, 74, of Durham, passed away on Sunday, May 6, 2018.
Mrs. Ferguson was a native and lifelong resident of Durham, the daughter of the late John Wesley Harris and Fannie Mae Mobley Harris. She was a member of Shady Grove Baptist Church. She retired from Sears Roebuck where she was employed in Human Resources as an Executive Assistant. Her five grandchildren were her life and she loved taking care of them. She was preceded in death by her husband, Johnny Leroy Ferguson, Sr.
She is survived by her son, Johnny Leroy Ferguson, Jr. and wife, Angie of Wake Forest; two daughters, Cynthia Ferguson Hooft and husband, Pete of Creedmoor and Kimberly Ann Ferguson; six brothers, John Wesley Harris, Jr., Charles Edward Harris, Marvin Lee Harris, William Henry Harris, Wallace Reid Harris and Michael Thomas Harris; five grandchildren, Jessica Leigh Howard Keith, Troy Lucas Howard, Mattie Olivia Ferguson, Gracie Elizabeth Ferguson and Katie James Ferguson.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 9, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Hudson Funeral Chapel. Rev. Hugh O’Shields will officiate. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m., before the service at the funeral home.
