Lyle Henson Compton

PERSON COUNTY- Lyle Henson Compton, 74, of Timberlake died on Monday, December 17, 2012. He was the son of the late Don Dean Compton and Virginia Mae Wetherholt Compton. He served in the US Air Force for 18 years. Mr. Compton was owner of Compton Builders. He was also a member of the Moose Lodge Nitro, WV Lodge 565 and was of the Baptist faith. He was preceded in death by his son, Donald J. Compton and brother, Roger Allen Compton.He is survived by his two grandsons, James Compton (Kim) of Durham; Matt Compton (Laura) of Durham; one great-grandson, James Lyle Compton of Durham; one sister, Linda Brown and husband, Lindy and husband, Lindy of St. Albans, West Virginia; former daughter-in-law Sandra Shambley (Mike) of Durham; aunt, Anna Wetherholt of West Virginia.Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 3:30 p.m. at Hudson Funeral Chapel. Rev. Todd Goins will officiate. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be James Compton, Matt Compton, Mike Shambley, Keith Anderson, Joe Dolinger and Guy Lindy Brown. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. one hour prior to the service at Hudson Funeral Home. Flowers acceptable.
