DURHAM- Mrs. Mary Gooch Ellis, 85, of Durham died on Friday, April 5, 2013 at the Hock Family Pavilion-Hospice. Mrs. Ellis was a native and lifelong resident of Durham and was the daughter of the late James and Sudie Gooch. She was preceded in death by her husband Samuel “Wink” Ellis. She is survived by her loving son, James W. Ellis (Tamra) of Durham; two sisters, Betty Baker (Harrell) of Burlington; Willie Mae Gammon of Reidsville; granddaughter, Courtney Beck (Jeff), great-granddaughter, Camdyn Beck all of Ocean Isle Beach.Graveside service will be held on Monday at 1:00 p.m. at Woodlawn Memorial Park. Rev. Wes Murray will officiate.Visitation will be held on Monday from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. one hour prior to the service at Hudson Funeral Home.
