Mary Louise McGhee

DURHAM Mrs. Mary Louise McGhee of Durham, died on Wednesday, March 18, 2015.

She was born on August 24, 1917 in Norfolk, Virginia to Julia Ingold Carr of Durham, N.C. and Walter J. Carr of Ladd, Illinois, who was a pioneer in aviation and is enshrined in the Michigan Hall of Fame. She was predeceased by both parents, twin brother, William Carr, son, Barry McGhee and step-daughter, Inez McGhee.

 She is survived by her son, Alan Carr McGhee, stepson, Charles McGhee, 5 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. She will be remembered as a caring and compassionate mother and grandmother (GiGi).

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, March 21st at 11 a.m. at Good Hope Baptist Church cemetery.
