Maxine Ruby Rabney

DURHAM- Mrs. Maxine Ruby Rabney, 79, passed away Saturday, November 11, 2017 at her home surrounded by her family.
Mrs. Rabney was born March 19, 1938 in Blakely, GA. She was a Real Estate Broker in Florida since 1969 until moving to North Carolina. Mrs. Rabney’s career encompassed both commercial and residential Real Estate. She was Vice President of 3 large companies. Mrs. Rabney was the founding member of the Governors Club in Tallahassee, FL and also a member of the National Board of Realtors for over 50 years. She will be remembered as a loving and devoted wife, mother, and “Mema”.
Mrs. Rabney is preceded in death by her parents, Jim Mack and Ollie Jones; brothers, Jim Mack Jones, Jr., Thomas Jones; sister, Willie Jones Moore.
Mrs. Rabney is survived by her husband of 36 years, Alec Rabney; son, Donnie Taliaferro (Debi); step-son, Steven Rabney (Kathy Huff), daughter, Tammy Taliaferro Galloway; grandchildren, Garrett Galloway (Kira), Dr. Tiffany Persons (Chris); great-grandchildren, Clarra Ruby Galloway, Amelia Jade Galloway, Calvin Rabney, Devin Taliaferro, Jordan Taliaferro.
Memorial services will be held 3:00 p.m. Saturday, November 18, 2017 at Hudson Funeral Chapel. Officiating will be Rev. Hugh O’Shields.
