GRANVILLE CO.- Mrs. Mildred “Mimi” Best, 86, of Creedmoor died on Sunday, March 24, 2013. She was a native and lifelong resident of Durham, the daughter of the late Clay Briggs and Elsie Summerlin Briggs. She was self-employed, she had a Daycare in her home. She was a member of Bethesda Baptist Church and also a member of Martha Surely Sunday School Class. She was preceded in death by her husband Hydra S. Best, daughter Karen Sherow and granddaughter Amy Hales.She is survived by her grandson, Jonathan A. Weary, son-in-law, Wayne Sherow, four nephews, Floyd Perkins, Steve Perkins, Larry Perkins and Reid Cooper, one niece Susan Perkins.Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. at Hudson Funeral Chapel. Rev. Hugh O’Shields will officiate. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Park.The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Hudson Funeral Home. Flowers are acceptable.
