OXFORD Mrs. Minnie Allen Pearce, 93, of Oxford, passed away on Monday, July 2, 2018.
Mrs. Pearce was a native of Granville County, the daughter of the late Wesley Allen and Maggie Morris Allen. She was a member of Grace Baptist Church in Oxford. She was a great cook and enjoyed being around her family. Minnie will be remembered as a very loving and kind mother who was always there for her children and grandchildren. She will be remembered as a wise woman whose faith in the Lord was very strong. She was predeceased by her husband, George Albert Pearce; son, Bill Pearce; daughter, Judy Newton; sisters, Meta Vann Link, Mae Merritt and Mattie House; brothers, Otis, Hickman and John Henry; son-in-law, Joe Black and two grandsons, Derrick Pearce and Michael Newton.
She is survived by her sons, George Pearce, Jr. (Susan) of Durham, Gerald Pearce (Dollie) of Wilkesboro; daughters, Josephine Black of Wake Forest; daughter-in-law, Linda Pearce; sister, Ruby Allen; 13 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren and other loving family members.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 6, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Hudson Funeral Chapel. Pastor Jonathan Newton will officiate. Burial will be in Oak Grove Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 5, 2018 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Hudson Funeral Home.
