Odis Odell Hutchins Jr.

DURHAM Mr. Odis Odell Hutchins, Jr., 75, of 3856 Angier Avenue, died on Sunday, October 14, 2012.Mr. Hutchins was born in Swain County to the late Odis Odell Hutchins, Sr. and Gertrude Payne Hutchins. He was a 1957 graduate of Oxford Orphanage and was a Printer. He was a Coach and Commissioner of the Bethesda Athletic Association. He was preceded in death by his son-in-law, Ronny, brother, Sam Hutchins and two sisters, Marilyn Yokeley and Lillian Hutchins.He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Mable Hutchins; one son, William Hutchins and wife, Linda of Durham; two daughters, Leigh Ann Toulson of Creedmoor and Susan Hutchins of Durham; one sister, Lois Lynn and husband, Ronnie of Waycross, Ga.; grandchildren, Shannon Conley and husband, Sean, Stephanie Sheppard and husband, Alex and William Mossette Hutchins and wife, Sarah; 4 great-grandchildren.Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 12 Noon at Hudson Funeral Chapel, officiated by Rev. Jerry Hooper. Burial will be in Oak Grove Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 11 to Noon, before the service, at Hudson Funeral Home and other times at the home, 3856 Angier Ave. Flowers are acceptable.
