Raymond Randall

November 7, 1929 — June 24, 2020

DURHAM- Mr. Raymond “Ray” Randall passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 24, 2020 with family at his bedside.

Mr. Randall was born November 7, 1929 to the late Louis and Lillian Randall in Wilmington, Delaware. He earned his undergraduate degree from Salisbury State University, and later went on to get his Master’s Degree from Golden Gate University. After teaching for several years, he enlisted in the United States Air Force, and proudly served his country for 26 years. Through his leadership and dedication, he achieved the rank of Chief Master Sergeant. During his career in the military, he was stationed all over the world; his time in the Pacific led him to meet his beautiful wife, Hisako. After retiring, he worked as a Management Engineer in the Civil Service for the US Navy for 11 years.

Mr. Randall deeply valued his relationships with his family and friends. He loved to sit and discuss current events or his fondest memories, and often offered words of wisdom and encouragement along the way. His greatest joy came from spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and he beamed with pride when he found any opportunity to share stories about them. He enjoyed researching genealogy, collecting coins and stamps, and maintaining a beautiful garden. He was endearing to everyone he met and spread cheer with his smile and endless jokes.

Mr. Randall is preceded in death by his loving wife of 59 years, Hisako Randall; parents, Louis and Lillian Randall; brother, Robert Randall.

Mr. Randall is survived by his daughters, Roberta Brown and Linda Holik; brother, Mark Randall (Michelle); grandchildren, Kyle Brown (Shikha), Lauren Crouse (Wes) and Sierra Holik; great-grandchildren, Sam Crouse and Sophia Brown.

Together forever, Ray and Hisako will be placed in the columbarium at the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific in Honolulu, Hawaii.
