Rebecca Fowler Wheeler

DURHAM- Rebecca Fowler Wheeler, 59, of Durham, died Monday, December 10, 2007 at Duke University Medical Center.

Mrs. Wheeler was a lifelong resident of Durham. She was a member of Bethesda Baptist Church and was an accountant with Research Triangle Institute.

Surviving are her husband, James Edward Wheeler; a daughter, Kristin Dickerson and husband, Scott, of Franklinton; her mother, Pearl Lanier Fowler of Durham; three brothers, William Curtis Fowler, Jr. and Timothy “Ricky” Fowler, both of Durham, and Gary Vann Fowler of Apex; two sisters, Charlotte Ann Fowler Vaughn of Timberlake and Jackie Fowler Williams of Durham; and a grandson, Dylan Dickerson. Mrs. Wheeler was preceded in death by her father, William Curtis Fowler, Sr.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Hudson Funeral Chapel, officiated by Rev. Ernest Ferrell and Rev. Clarence Parrish. Entombment will be in Oak Grove Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive visitors from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Hudson Funeral Home.

Flowers are acceptable or memorials may be made to a charity of choice.
