Robert Edwin Mead

DURHAM-  Mr. Robert  Edwin Mead, 95, of  Durham, died on Sunday, February 23, 2014. He was the son of the late  Edwin Mead and Martha Goettche Mead. He was a lifelong resident of  Port Chester, New York and was a member of Our Lady of Mercy Church in Port Chester, NY, lived in Durham seven years.  He died one year, one day, one hour from his wife’s death. He was preceded in death by his wife Catherine Marie Mead, two sisters, Edna Ferguson and Beatrice Thum.

He is survived  three sons, Brian Mead of  Durham, Robert Mead (Jean) of Arlington, Vt., Gary Mead (Darlene) of Durham; 6 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held on their 73^rd wedding anniversary on Sunday, March 2, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Hudson Funeral Chapel. Visitation following  the service.  They will be interred together at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Rye Brook, NY, at a later date at the family’s convenience.  Memorial donations can be made to a charity of one’s choice.
