Rosa Mae Hicks Lassiter

DURHAM Mrs. Rosa Mae Hicks Lassiter, 69, of Durham, died on Thursday, May 01, 2014.
Mrs. Lassiter was a native and lifelong resident of Durham, the daughter of the late Issac and Dolly O’Neil Hicks. She worked for the Dog House and later retired from Ethanol Inc. She was a very loving caring mother that enjoyed being around her family. She loved country dancing, fishing, bingo and sports. She was preceded in death by her brother, Freddie Hicks and three sisters, Dalphine Perguson, Agnus Carroll and Elaine Rogers.
She is survived by her husband of 49 years, James Lassiter; her son, James Todd Lassiter of Durham; daughter, Angie Lassiter of Durham; brother, Johnny Hicks of Creedmoor; sisters, Emma Lou Couch of Durham, Pauline “Polly” Salmon of Roxboro and Rhonda Johnson of Northside; grandchildren, Mark Tate, Dustin Tate, Eddie Pulley and Tonya Pulley and 10 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 2 p.m. at Hudson Funeral Chapel. Rev. Dan Hill will officiate.
The family will receive friends on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Hudson Funeral Home and other times at the home. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations for the funeral service expenses.
