Ruby Morris Alford

DURHAM Mrs. Ruby Morris Alford, 95, a former resident of St. Mary’s Road, Hillsborough, died on Monday, January 21, 2013.Mrs. Alford was born in Wake County to the late Leonard and Lillie Gargis Morris. She retired from the Westinghouse Meter Division in Raleigh. She was a member of North Durham Baptist Church. She enjoyed camping. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilson Alford.She is survived by her son, Michael Rives Alford; two daughters, Aultney Cozart and Susan Carroll; one brother, Robert Morris; two sisters, Mary Davis and Irma Prevette; five grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.Funeral services will be held on Friday at 11 a.m. at Hudson Funeral Chapel, officiated by Pastor Wes McMurray. Entombment will be in Raleigh Memorial Park.Active pallbearers will be Jeff Tidwell, Patrick Tidwell, Sammy Mitchell, Scott Curtis, Forrest Cozart and Cee Jay Dozar. The family will receive friends on Friday from 10 to 11 a.m., before the service at Hudson Funeral Home.
