Rudolph Parker Sr.

Mr. Rudolph Parker, Sr., age 84, passed away on January 14, 2022.

Rudolph was born on February 8, 1937, in Fairmont, NC, a son of the late Lonnie and Florence Watkins Parker. Mr. Parker was a faithful member of Riverside Independent Baptist Church, where he was a Sunday School Teacher of the Senior Sunday School Class. He loved the Lord and reading the bible. Rudolph loved witnessing to people about the goodness of the Lord. He was the owner of Parker Tile Company for 24 years. He enjoyed playing solitaire and cards. Rudolph always enjoyed his visits to Swansboro, where he would go fishing. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, and great-grandfather.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Parker was preceded in death by his brothers, Vincent Parker, Coleman Parker, Corbett Parker, and Alvie Parker; and sisters, Myrtle Smith and Mary Grace Nobles.

Mr. Parker is survived by his wife of 64 years, Patricia Parker; sons, Rudy Parker, Jr. (Polly) and Jim Parker (Martha); daughters, Susie Crews (Robert), Jeannie Potter (Don), and Donna Kee (Doug); sister, Ellen Zelasko; grandchildren, Heather White, Jimmy Parker, Jr. (Becky), Barbara Ann Whitfield (Adam), Jessica Gunter (Will), and Tyler Crews; and great-grandchildren, Parker White, Beckett Crews, Lillie Whitfield, Emma Whitfield, Tucker Whitfield, Hayleigh Parker, and Layla Parker.

A visitation will be held from 1:00-2:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 26, 2022 at Hudson Funeral Home with a funeral service following at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel. Officiating will be Pastor Chase Greene and Pastor Jimmy Jones. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens. For those unable to attend, viewing and signing of the registry book will be available today, January 25, 2022 until 5:00 p.m.
