DURHAM Mr. Thomas Benjamin Fridley, 89, of Durham, died on Sunday, May 25, 2014.
Mr. Fridley was born in Sweetwater, Tennessee, son of the late Charlie R. Fridley and Betty Haskins Fridley. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He retired from the American Tobacco Company. He loved to travel. He was preceded in death by his wife, Beatrice Fridley.
He is survived by his son, Donnie Fridley of Terre-Haute, In., stepsons, Thomas Crabtree of Reidsville and Phillip Crabtree both of Durham; step-daughters, Jean Marlowe and Edna Carden both of Durham; grandson, Donnie Fridley; great-grandchildren, Thomas Adam Fridley, Jordan Fridley and Bryson Fridley and special friend, Pauline Collie of Chase City, Va.
Graveside services will be held on Monday at 11 a.m. at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens, officiated by Rev. Glenn Burris.
The family will receive friends on Monday from 9:30 to 10:30 am, before the service at Hudson Funeral Home. Flowers are acceptable.
