Woodrow Wiley Johnson

DURHAM Woodrow Wiley Johnson, best known as Woody, 74, passed away Monday, April 9, 2018, in his home.
Woody was born August 9, 1943 in Durham, NC. He was the son of the late Woodrow Wilson Johnson and Sallie Louise Elliott Johnson; grandson of the late Wiley Pink and Annie Belle Vaughn Johnson and John Henry and Pattie Louise Whitt Elliott. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Peggy Johnson May and nephew, Harrison Eugene May, Jr. Woody was a retired self-employee business owner who enjoyed living life. Woody’s favorite day of the week was Tuesday. Every Tuesday he enjoyed starting the day by having breakfast at Pam’s Farmhouse in Raleigh with his family and friends. He loved his daughter, “Peaches” and also enjoyed NASCAR, Duke basketball, watching old westerns and Fox News.
He is survived by two children, Woodrow Wiley Johnson, Jr. and daughter-in-law Nancy; and Denise Johnson Whitley and son-in-law Greg. Woody was a proud grandfather of four grandchildren Alysann Brooke, Sarah Elizabeth, Woodrow Wiley and Kathryn Elizabeth. He is also survived by his brothers, James Johnson and wife Judy, Wayne Johnson and wife Cindy, and Tommy Johnson and wife Diane; brother-in-law Harrison May; several nieces and nephews.
